Gunning For A Cure is an annual fundraiser held at Stella Plantation each year to benefit the research of Dr. Oliver Sartor's Prostate Cancer Research Fund at the Tulane Cancer Center. All proceeds go directly to Dr. Sartor and his team towards their prostate cancer research and development of treatments for advanced prostate cancer.
Aside from taking pride in hosting events and corporate retreats that are unique and customizable - we always do our best to provide exceptional service. This does not fall short for the Gunning for a Cure event. With the help of the Stella Staff, the Gunning for a Cure Board, and over 60 selfless volunteers a one of a kind fundraiser comes to life in a day full of service and fun.
The main attraction of the event is a clay shooting competition. In the past, we have had over 70 four-person teams come out for some friendly shooting and fun competition. With 25 different station, all of the teams will get to move around the Stella property and aim for the best score cards.
Outside of the clay shooting competition, there will be lots of activities for guests of all ages to enjoy. We will have bouncy houses and other children activities for all of the young guests at the event. Once the teams finish the competition they can join all of the other non-shooting guests for an after party with raffle tickets, auction items, a chicken drop competition and lots of other surprises!
